Clothesline Club – If you love 30s fabrics as much as we do you will enjoy this Friday night get together.  Every first Friday night, beginning in March, join Debbie for a free pattern, hand or machine sewing, Darlene Zimmerman’s monthly newsletter and snacks.   Debbie will give you tips and techniques, a little history lesson and you will have fun just sewing together.  Bring your machine or handwork.  1 session each month. $10 each month. Freaky Friday – Join us every Friday for an adventure in quilting.   This Friday group will focus on art quilting, creating journal quilts and learning new techniques.  Of course you can also bring any traditional quilting projects too.  

The 1st Friday of each month we will demo or teach a new technique at 10:30.  There is no fee for this class but a small supply fee may be required.

There will be no class Friday, July 4.  Instead the class will be held on Friday, July 11.

Mystery Quilt – Take a tour of the world with our monthly mystery quilt series.  Join the fun and spend the day with a great group of quilters who like to have a good time.  Snacks, recipes, and maybe a game or two rounds out the day.  Lots of fun!  The class offers a throw size quilt kit each month.  Choose from 3 color selections each month.   Pattern included.  Kit required.  1 session each month.  $15 for class and $50 for kit and pattern.

Project Linus Quilts – Join us on the 3rd Wednesday of each month to make quilts for Project Linus.   Bring your machine and lunch and join us in this really worthwhile effort.

 

Quilter's Workout – "Workout" every Wednesday of the month at Quilt Country.  Come and sew in our spacious classroom, bring lunch and stay all day.  Bring your UFOs or a special project that you want to finish.  Invite your friends to come workout with you. 1 session each week. The Basics

 

Beginning Binding – A beautiful binding is the “icing on the cake”.  This class is designed to teach the traditional combination of machine and hand stitched binding, straight of grain vs. bias binding, and decorative bindings.  Machine and book required.

Beginning machine quilting on your small machine - If you would like to quilt on your home sewing machine, this is a class for you. We will cover thread options, marking, stencils, quilting with even feed foot and free motion. Must have sewing experience and be familiar with sewing machine that has ability to drop feed dogs. This class introduces the fundamentals of machine quilting that will enable you to complete your sewing projects and provide a base to develop machine quilting. proficiency.1 session.  $35.  Martha Richard.

Beginning Silk Ribbon Embroidery – Alexandra will teach you the basics of silk ribbon embroidery.  This technique is beautiful on quilts, pillows, and wall hangings, even postcards! 1 session. $25.  Alexandra Henry.

Fabric Painting for Crazy Quilts - During this class, students will learn techniques for the art of painting on fabric, including shading, highlighting and line work.   Students will complete a small flower project that can be used on a crazy quilt or other items.

Intermediate Silk Ribbon - This class is for those who want to explore silk ribbon beyond the basics.  Students will learn more advanced silk stitching techniques, including coral stitch roses, pistil stitch, twisted straight stitches, and more.  Students will also explore the uses of silk ribbon in landscape quilting, on crazy quilting and on clothing. 1 session. $25.  Alexandra Henry.

Free motion quilting on your small machine Create beautiful quilts using the free motion techniques from Carol.  Learn to create beautiful motifs .  After you gain confidence by quilting straight lines, Carol will teach you to overcome the fear of free-motion quilting. 1 session.  $35.  Carol Morrissey.

Quilting 101 – Quilting for beginning sewers.  This quick and easy machine-pieced quilt is a great introduction to quilting if you have little or no sewing experience.  Learn the basic skills of rotary cutting, sewing a straight ¼" seam, matching points and pressing seams.  The last class will cover information on turning your quilt top into a finished quilt.  Adults only, please.  Sewing machine in good, working condition with machine operating manual required for class.

Quilting 102 – Each block of this six-block sampler quilt teaches a different method of machine piecing.  Learn about sashing and the secret of putting on borders for a flat quilt top.  Machine sewing & rotary skills are required.  Adults only, please.   Machine only.  6 sessions. $65.  Includes manual.  Martha Richard.

Children’s Embroidery Class - Children from 8-12 years old will enjoy this class while learning some of the basic stitches of hand embroidery.   This is a good class for beginning embroiderers and the crazy quilt stitchers of tomorrow.

Color Class - Have you ever struggled with color and value in your quilts, or had a quilt lacking the visual “punch” you thought it would have?  Then this is the class for you.  Alexandra takes students through the mystery of color theory and how it applies to quilting.  This is a practical hands-on class through a series of exercises with color.  Students will be constructing a color reference book with this class.  Three 3 hour sessions, $45.00.
