Farmer’s Wife Quilting and Book Club – With Judy's expert advice make ten 6" blocks every month.  The Farmer's Wife is a wonderful book filled with letters and patterns for these blocks.   Enjoy the discussions on the lives of these amazing women while you piece your blocks.  Bring a sack dinner if you like.  Dessert during the break will be provided. 1 session each month. $15 each session.  Judy Larson.  Book and template set/s required.

Michael Miller Clubhouse – February brings a fun new club to Quilt Country, Clubhouse 2012. Nita will show you the month’s block and tips she has learned as she made her blocks. Each month you will receive a kit AND a bonus pattern.  We will have door prizes, a demo, Clubhouse Cash which you can save and use month 12 in a mad spending spree!!  The bonus patterns are great with all sorts of projects to enhance your quilt. After the demo you can stay and sew till 4:30.

Quilter's Workout – "Workout" every Wednesday of the month at Quilt Country.  Come and sew in our classroom, bring lunch and stay all day.  Bring your UFOs or a special project that you want to finish.  Invite your friends to come workout with you. 1 session each week. No fee.10:00AM-5:00PM

 

Batik Garden – Join the 2012-2014 series beginning April 2012.  We decided that we are ready to be finished with the triangle blocks. It is time to move on to something more varied and fun!!  The next quilt will be a row quilt.  Rows will have pieced and/or appliqué blocks.  Don’t worry, fused appliqué is just fine.  I would show you what the quilt looks like but we are still working on it!

Our kit includes fabric and directions for 1 section of the quilt.  Each month we will offer a batik kit.  First section will be available on the 1st Saturday in April.  Registration fee $5. Monthly block fee is $3.  Finishing kits available.  Stop by and sign up.

The Basics

Beginning Needle Turn Appliqué - Learn the basic skills needed to make the beautiful hand appliqué that is so popular.  Piece o’ Cake pattern “My Whimsical Garden” with fun fabrics make that dreaded “A“ word a thing of the past.  Make a block from the pattern and then you will be able to make the rest of the blocks for the charming quilt. 1 session. $30. Quilting 101 – Quilting for beginning sewers.  This quick and easy machine-pieced quilt is a great introduction to quilting if you have little or no sewing experience.  Learn the basic skills of rotary cutting, sewing a straight ¼" seam, matching points and pressing seams.  The last class will cover information on turning your quilt top into a finished quilt.  Adults only, please.  Sewing machine in good, working condition with machine operating manual required for class.

Amazon StarThis beautiful quilt is easier than it looks.  It is a King Size quilt but has lots of large pieces in it.  It is a good place to start to learn the techniques Judy uses in her patterns.  Eileen is a Certified Judy Niemeyer instructor and will take you through the steps to create this masterpiece. This is an aggressive place to start if you have not taken any of Judy Niemeyer's classes. You will learn the basics of her paper piecing technique, plus try out some easy curved piecing.  It is a very big quilt, but worth the time and effort.  Eileen has learned additional tips in the many Judy patterns she has completed and will share them with you in the class. $90. Class size limited to 12.

Glacier Star, Technique of the Month - Quilt Country is again offering a Judy Niemeyer "Technique of the Month" Glacier Star class. It will be taught by Eileen Urbanek, who is a Certified Instructor for all of the Judy Niemeyer patterns. This time it will be a 3 month program with two (2) techniques taught each month. When you have completed this 3 month program you will have learned all the techniques that Judy has used in her quilts so far, and you will have an understanding that would allow you to try any of her other patterns.

Quilt Country will assist you in selecting your fabric for this project OR you can use the very detailed fabric selection guide that Eileen has created. Class Cost is $90 + $60 for the pattern for a total of $150, which will be divided into the 3 sessions at $50 each session. Class size limited to 12.

Light Rag Quilt - Make the lighter version of the classic Quilt Country rag quilt using cotton fabric and no batting.  This will be the perfect weight for spring and summer cuddling.  In fact, you might make the Quilt Country Cuddle version which zips together in a flash.  No quilting or binding required. Machine in good working order, walking foot, pattern, a rotary cutter with a sharp blade, and fabric require.  You don’t need to pre-wash these fabrics, just come ready to work.  $25.00. Payment in full is required at the time you register.  You may register by phone or come by.  A supply list will be given when you register along with one full discount card.  You may use the card to purchase your supplies for class or save it for a later time.  If you cancel 7 days before class you may receive a full refund or transfer your fee to another class.  If we cancel at any time, your deposit will be refunded. 

No children or guests allowed in class.

Due to common allergies, do not wear perfume in class.

After unloading your class supplies, please move your car out into the parking lot.

RENT THE MILLENNIUM!

Beginning Longarm Quilting

Take this beginning longarm class to learn how to load a quilt and use the machine so you can rent our APQS machines! Class fee is $150.00 payable by check at the beginning of class. Along with the class instruction on how to use the APQS Millennium you will receive; (1) lunch (2) a set of zippers to shorten your rental time, and (3) a handout with all information for you to refer to after the class.

Once you have taken the class to rent the Millennium, the charges are $20 per hour with a 2 hour minimum, plus thread, plus whatever else you might need to purchase from the store.

This class requires that you purchase the Quilt of Valor Kit from Quilt Country.  Put it together and then come in and quilt it.  The kit is a simple 2 panel kit with 2 borders.  You piece it all together and I will take you thru CUSTOM quilting this little panel quilt.  You will end up with a beautiful piece that you can keep or share with your favorite solider.  This class is scheduled as a 2 day class in case we don’t finish the first day. Judy Classes  ADVANCED/CUSTOM 

This “class” is an individual class.  You have already put So much time and effort into your beautiful Judy masterpiece and you want to finish it yourself..LET’S JUST DO IT!!!!  SOOOOO….If you have already taken the Beginning class AND you have at least 20+ hours of experience on the longarm AND you aren’t scared of anything… I will guide you thru quilting your Judy quilt.  We have to schedule a time when you can have at least 2-3 days in a row to work on this baby.  The hourly rate will be 40$ per hour. We will work from 9-2 or 3 depending on your level of energy, take a short lunch break and BE HAPPY WITH WHAT WE ARE DOING!!! Connie Keller
