Photo to Fiber Art Quilt Class Supply List
Photo of your choice printed in color on regular weight paper (photo paper is too thick). I suggest limiting the size to no more than 36" X 36" since we have limited work space. You can use Blockposters.com or a similar website to convert your image into a PDF file that will print on multiple pages which you can print on your home printer. You can then tape it together in class. This is usually how I print my photos. You can also go to a copy shop to get your image printed. In addition you will need an 8" x 10" full color print on photo paper for color reference.
Notes about images:
Please choose a high resolution photo that is bright and in focus. Good subject matter would be landscapes, florals, animals, etc. I suggest avoiding images of people until you are a bit more experienced. You should use your own photo or an image that is copyright free. Pixabay.com is a great resource for images you can use with no restrictions. Please only use images that you have permission to use.

Don't forget to bring your reading glasses if you need them and your lunch.
You will not need to bring your sewing machine.

Supplies:
- Assorted fabrics in values from light to dark. Bring more than you think you will use. Value is more important than color. It's what gives your subject dimension.
- 2-3 yards of lightweight fusible web to get you started. I recommend trans-Web or Soft Fuse.
- Light box. If you don't have one, see if you can borrow one from a friend. We also have them available for purchase at Quilt Country.
- Fusible pressing sheet.
- Ultra fine black Sharpies
- Pencil
- Scissors with a sharp tip. I sue Karen K. Buckle scissors. They work very well for this application.
- Roll of invisible wrapping tape (Scotch tape, the frosted kind, not shiny)
- Small ironing surface and iron (optional but nice to have).
