Hippy Dippy Dotty Collage
Twelve fat eighths, or six to eight fat quarters or straight quarters. Choose any assortment of fabrics that you like, selecting a range of values (lights and darks) for contrast. You might prefer a limited palette, such as various shades of blue, or you might choose an assortment of bright, intense colors, or any other color range you like. One of my samples contains over 20 colors (I added some scraps from my stash). Another one of my pieces contains only 10 colors. The fabric quantities mentioned above are more than required for our class project (approximately 20?x27?), but if you are purchasing yardage, a straight quarter is typically the smallest amount you can purchase.
2. Fusible web:
I use Pellon Wonder Under #805. Three yards should be enough. If you find that you need more during our class, it will be available at Quilt Country.
NOTE: To make the most of your time during the workshop, I STRONGLY advise you to iron the Wonder Under to the wrong side of your fabric PRIOR to the class. This will enable you to get right to work rather than spending your class time ironing. You don?t have to apply Wonder Under to ALL of your fabric, but I recommend applying it to at least eight fat eighths (a fat eighth measures about 9?x22?). Follow the manufacturer?s directions. DO NOT REMOVE THE PAPER BACKING.
One yard of Pellon 931TD or 950F interfacing, available at Quilt Country.
