This is a very fun and easy project that I made over and over as gifts.
Supplies:
Sewing machine and Basic sewing supplies – pins for sure
18 inch pillow form (see note below)
Clear/monofilament thread (available at Quilt Country)
Neutral color thread in bobbin
Fabric requirements:
15 inch square of muslin (see note below)
7 ½ - 8 inch strip (by the width of the fabric) of SIX different fabrics with good contrast to each other in color and lightness/darkness or SIX fat quarters
5/8 of a yard for border fabric and backing fabric (if directional fabric ¾ yard)
1/6 yard for binding that looks nice on the border fabric
I have a supply of 18 inch pillow forms and muslin at home and will supply that for an additional charge of $10 paid directly to me in class. This is what most of my students choose to do so just let me know via e-mail or text after you sign up.
I will supply the pattern since it is one that I created and is currently living only in my head…..
I work at the store on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays as well as some weekend days if you would like me to help you pick out your fabric. I will have a model at the store for you to look at.
Please remember that the store policy is that at least a three day notice must be given if you need to cancel the class in order to get a refund. Space in the classes is limited and there is often a waitlist.
You may bring a lunch, we have a refrigerator in the kitchen to put it in and drinks available for purchase. There is also a Starbucks across the parking lot and Jimmy Johns delivers sandwiches for a small fee.
I promise you will love making this pillow, but warn that they might become addictive.
I kindly request that you refrain from wearing any perfumes and scented lotions when attending my class. I am sensitive to certain smells and they can trigger a headache. Thank you.
