Rope Bowl Class - Advanced

Rope Bowl Classes
Use clothesline rope and your sewing machine to make these fun bowls. By the way, they make great gifts! There are two classes per day. We’ll start with the beginner class in the morning and continue with the advanced class after lunch. Sign up for the beginner class, you’ll have so much fun, you want to stay for the advanced class, too.
Rope Bowl Class Supply List - Beginning & Advanced
Sewing machine that can sew a zig-zag stitch and zig-zag foot (Don’t forget the power cord and foot pedal!)
8 yards of 100 percent cotton 3/16” diameter braided rope for the beginner class
15 yards of 100 percent cotton 3/16” diameter braided rope for the advanced class
(The rope will be available at the shop on the day of class if you have not already purchased yours.)
50 weight cotton thread – cream color to match the rope and at least 2 pre-wound bobbins
Size 90/100 or Jeans needle
Clover binding clips
Scissors
Glue Stick
Basic Sewing Supplies (pins, extra machine needles, seam ripper, tape measure, fray check, etc…)
*If you wish to wrap portions of your rope sections with fabric, you will need ¾” wide strips of various lengths. I have found that bias strips work best for this.
If you plan to stay for both classes, you might consider bringing a snack or lunch with you.
*It is also fun to fussy cut fabric elements to fuse to the inside or outside of the bowls. If you think you might like to try this, bring some fabric to fussy cut, Steam A Seam, and a small craft iron.
