Pretty and practical, these zippered bags with side handles and diagonal borders are quick and easy to make.
The pattern includes complete instructions for bags in three sizes. They make great gifts!
SMALL: This smart bag will carry your most important beauty supplies or other personal items and will fit easily in many purses or bags. 3¾"H x 6½"W x 1½"D
MEDIUM: Not too small and not too big, this bag fits neatly into a larger purse or your favorite tote and will carry and protect a variety of supplies. 4½"H x 8"W x 2½"D
LARGE: For more than the basics, this spacious bag holds bottles, brushes, and more. Use it to organize a diaper bag or use more masculine fabrics to make a great toiletry bag for a guy. 6"H x10"W x 3"D
Ditty Bags 2.0 – Cheryl Kemp
Thank you for taking the Ditty Bags 2.0 class. Below are the supplies and homework for your class. Medium size Ditty Bag will be made in class.
Supply List:
Ditty Bags 2.0 pattern By Annie
1 fat quarter for main fabric
1 fat quarter for lining
1 fat quarter - Coordinated fabric (handles, border, bindings, zipper pull)
16" x 16” Soft n Stable Foam - ByAnnie
One 16” or longer single slide zipper
Note: One 24” single slide and one double-slide handbag zipper will make the zippers for all three bags. Alternately, use a minimum of 48” of Zippers by the Yard and 3 zipper pulls
Thread to match fabric
Sewing machine in good working condition
Sewing supplies – please refer to pattern for additional supplies
HOMEWORK:
Make a copy from the pattern for labeling your pieces. (Note: I don’t cut my pattern; I use a copy of the page for cutting out the labels).
Cut all the pieces before the class for your bag. Have the labels clipped to your bag pieces for easy construction.
Sandwich the Body Stabilizer between the Body Main (face up) and Body Lining (face down), aligning all edges, pin or clip to join. You may also use 505 Temporary Adhesive to adhere main body piece.
Quilt Country Classroom Guidelines
To ensure all Quilt Country students get the most out of their classes, we ask that you please follow the guidelines below:
- Students are expected to be on time, with all supplies, and ready to go by start of class.
- After unloading your class supplies, please move your car to the parking lot in the middle of the shopping center.
- Due to common allergies, please do not wear perfume to class.
- For the safety of all, please keep your belongs stowed. Check for stray pins and tidy your sewing area when packing up after class.
- Please turn off cell phone ringers during class and only receive calls outside the classroom.
- Please be considerate and do not bring children to class, unless the class is specifically for children, and the child is participating in the class.
- Please mind your conversations in volume and content so everyone feels comfortable.
Quilt Country Classroom Policy
- All students attend class at their own risk.
- The use of any Quilt Country tools and equipment is at the students’ own risk.
- Quilt Country is not responsible for the loss of or damage to students’ personal items.
- At the instructor’s discretion, students arriving 15 minutes or more after the start of class may not be permitted to take the class – tuition will be forfeited.
- If you are unable to attend the class (cancellation policy):
- If attendance is cancelled a week or more in advance of the class – full refund.
- If attendance is cancelled between 3 and 7 days in advance of the class – store credit will be issued for the class fee amount.
- No refund or credit will be issued for “no shows” or cancellations less than three (3) days in advance of the class.
