Clutch Cult - Oxbow Tote PREP Class

Required Pattern · Oxbow Tote Pattern by Noodlehead (Note: We will be making the Overnight size: 18” W x 7” D x 14” H).

Fabric Requirements

· Exterior Fabric: Quilting cotton or canvas - 1 yard

· Lining Fabric: Quilting-weight cotton or linen blend. 1 ½ yards

· Accent Fabric: For the reinforced base and handles. 3/8 yard

· Extra Fabric: For luggage sleeve. Instructions in class. ¼ yard

Interfacing & Stabilizer

· Fusible Interfacing: Medium weight for the lining. (SF 101 or equivalent) 2 -1/4 yards

· Fusible Fleece or Foam: Required if you plan to quilt your bag for extra structure. By Annie’s 18” X 58” package

· Peltex or rigid stabilizer: For the reinforced base. 7” X 19” piece (Pellon 72F or equivalent recommended)

Hardware & Notions

· Zipper: One (1) 30” zipper

· Crossbody Strap Hardware: * Two (2) 1.5” Swivel Hooks.

o One (1) 1.5” Slider Buckle.

o Two (2) 1” D-rings.

· Thread: High-quality polyester or heavy-duty thread to match your exterior fabric.

Sewing Tools

· Fabric shears or rotary cutter and mat.

· Quilting rulers.

· Marking pen or tailor's chalk.

· Sewing clips (preferred over pins for thicker bag layers).

· Denim or Topstitch needles (Size 90/14 or 100/16).

Note: During the Monday prep session, we will focus on cutting your fabrics and preparing your panels for quilting. Please have your materials ready so we can dive straight into the professional construction techniques on Saturday!

Quilt Country Classroom Guidelines

To ensure all Quilt Country students get the most out of their classes, we ask that you please follow the guidelines below:

1.      Students are expected to be on time, with all supplies, and ready to go by start of class.  
2.      After unloading your class supplies, please move your car to the parking lot in the middle of the shopping center.
3.      Due to common allergies, please do not wear perfume to class.
4.      For the safety of all, please keep your belongs stowed. Check for stray pins and tidy your sewing area when packing up after class.
5.      Please turn off cell phone ringers during class and only receive calls outside the classroom.
6.      Please be considerate and do not bring children to class, unless the class is specifically for children, and the child is participating in the class.  
7.      Please mind your conversations in volume and content so everyone feels comfortable.
   
   

Quilt Country Classroom Policy

1.      All students attend class at their own risk.
2.      The use of any Quilt Country tools and equipment is at the students’ own risk.
3.      Quilt Country is not responsible for the loss of or damage to students’ personal items.
4.      At the instructor’s discretion, students arriving 15 minutes or more after the start of class may not be permitted to take the class – tuition will be forfeited.
5.      If you are unable to attend the class (cancellation policy):
6.      If attendance is cancelled a week or more in advance of the class – full refund.
7.      If attendance is cancelled between 3 and 7 days in advance of the class – store credit will be issued for the class fee amount.
8.       No refund or credit will be issued for “no shows” or cancellations less than three (3) days in advance of the class.
